Back in September, Vivo launched the Vivo V17 Pro smartphone in India. Soon after the launch of the handset, multiple reports surfaced on the interwebs that the Vivo V17 Pro may be discontinued to make way for the Vivo V17’s launch in India. The latter was introduced in Russia recently as the rebranded version of the Vivo S1 Pro. The Chinese smartphone giant recently announced that it will be introducing a new V series handset in India in December. While the brand didn’t reveal the name of the device, it is expected to be the Vivo V17. Ahead of the launch, folks over at 91mobiles have leaked the design and specifications of the smartphone for India.
Vivo V17 specifications and features
Talking about the specs and design first, the leak suggests that the Vivo V17’s Indian model will be much different than its Russian and Chinese counterparts. The official render gives a glimpse of the upcoming V17 in India. The photo reveals that the handset will have a bezel-less display with a punch-hole cutout on the top right corner of the screen. As seen in the image above, the Vivo V17 will have an L-shaped quad-camera setup in a square module instead of the diamond-shaped module as seen on the Russian and Chinese variants of the same device.
The latest leak suggests that the Vivo V17 will sport a 6.44-inch full HD+ OLED FullView display with 91.38 percent screen to body ratio. The device will feature an in-display fingerprint scanner for enhanced security. In the camera department, the Vivo V17 is said to offer a 48MP f/1.8 main sensor, which will be accompanied by an 8MP f/2.2 secondary camera and two 2MP sensors. For selfies and video-calling, the handset is expected to offer a 32MP camera. Under the hood, the Vivo V17 is tipped to be powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 675 chipset, which will be paired with 8GB of RAM and 256GB storage. Lastly, the latest leak indicates that the phone will draw power from a 4,500mAh battery that will support 18W fast charging.
