The Vivo V19, Vivo’s latest mid-range smartphone, has been officially launched in India today. The successor to the Vivo V17 was originally slated to be announced in the country on March 26th, but the launch was postponed twice due to the coronavirus lockdown.
With an ease in lockdown restrictions allowing retail stores to open, as well as e-commerce deliveries in Green and Orange zones, many smartphone brands including Xiaomi and Realme have decided to launch their phones in India. Vivo has followed suit with the V19. The phone brings several upgrades over the Vivo V17, including dual punch-hole selfie cameras, a more powerful processor, and faster charging.
Vivo V19 specifications and features
The Vivo V19 features a 6.44-inch Super AMOLED display with full HD+ resolution. On the top left corner is a cutout housing dual selfie cameras, and there’s an in-display fingerprint sensor as well.
Powering the phone is an octa-core Snapdragon 712 chipset, paired with 8GB of RAM and 128GB/256GB of UFS 2.1 storage. There’s also a dedicated microSD card slot for expansion. The V19 also features liquid cooling to keep temperatures down during intensive usage. For gaming, users can make use of the Ultra Game Mode, which offers features such as fast screen capture, screen recording, game vibration, voice changer and killer countdown.
The rear cameras are arranged in a rectangular module, and consist of an f/1.7 48MP primary, 8MP wide-angle, 2MP bokeh and 2MP macro cameras. For selfies, you get a 32MP primary and 8MP wide-angle camera. Both the front and rear cameras support a Super night mode.
The battery on the Vivo V19 is unchanged from its predecessor, with a 4,500mAh unit fuelling the device. You do however get 33W FlashCharge 2.0 fast charging. The phone runs Android 10 with FunTouch OS 10 on top.
Connectivity features include dual-and Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, dual-SIM, GPS, USB Type-C (with OTG) and a 3.5mm audio jack.
