Update: The images of the device are now live on the TENAA database.

A new mysterious Vivo smartphone with a model number resembling the Vivo IQOO Neo has been spotted today on China’s TENAA certification portal. The model is Vivo V1936AL as the IQOO Neo’s model number is V1936A. The entry is new right now which means there are no images yet but there’s more than just model number similarity right here between these two devices. Read on to find more.

The Vivo V1936AL’s dimensions - 159.53×75.23×8.13(mm) – and screen size – 6.38-inches – match exactly with the iQOO Neo and the latest iQOO Neo Snapdragon 855 version. That’s not all, the battery size is very close too as this model has a 4,420mAh battery while the iQOO Neo has a 4,500mAh cell. The band support is almost the same too.

The same model was recently spotted on the CCC database with support for 22.5W charging. This is again the same as the iQOO Neo. However, the Neo is itself just a month old product fresh on the shelves. Hence we don’t know what Vivo exactly intends to do here. This could be a limited edition or even a maxed-out iQOO Neo with added features.

Sadly though, images of the device have yet to be uploaded but we expect that to happen soon. That’s when we’ll be able to tell the exact identity of the product. As for the iQOO Neo, it rocks a Snapdragon 855 with upto 256GB of storage and 8GB of RAM. It has a triple camera array, a 6.38-inch Full-HD+ display and a 4,500mAh battery.
