Vivo has launched the Vivo V20 Pro 5G in India as the most powerful smartphone in the V20 series. The handset features the Snapdragon 765G SoC, 64-megapixel triple rear cameras, 44-megapixel dual from cameras, and Android 11 as its highlighting features.

Vivo has priced the V20 Pro 5G at Rs 29,990 in India. At this price, the smartphone goes up against the top-end variant of the OnePlus Nord and the Google Pixel 4A. Both these smartphones pose some serious competition to the latest Vivo offering. Here’s how the Vivo V20 Pro 5G fares against the competition.

The Vivo V20 Pro 5G has been launched in a single configuration with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage. The smartphone is priced at Rs 29,990 and is being offered in Midnight Jazz and Sunset Melody colours. The phone can be picked up from Vivo India E-store, major e-commerce websites, and retail outlets.

The OnePlus Nord is being offered in 6GB + 64GB, 8GB + 128GB and 12GB + 256GB configurations. These models have been priced at Rs 24,999, Rs 27,999, and Rs 29,999 respectively. The handset can be picked from OnePlus official online store and Amazon India. Buyers can choose from Blue Marble and Gray Onyx colour options.

The Google Pixel 4A also comes in a single configuration with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage. The smartphone is priced at Rs 31,999 and can be purchased from Flipkart in single Black colour.

The Vivo V20 Pro 5G is equipped with a 6.44-inch AMOLED display with FHD+ resolution. The screen has a wide notch on the top to house the dual front cameras. The screen has a 20:9 aspect ratio and 408ppi pixel density. Additionally, there’s an under-display fingerprint scanner.

The OnePlus Nord features a similar-sized 6.44-inch AMOLED panel with FHD+ screen resolution. However, the smartphone has a Fluid AMOLED display with a higher refresh rate of 90Hz. The screen has a Corning Gorilla Glass 5 layer on top.

Lastly, the Google Pixel 4A has the smallest display of the lot measuring 5.8-inches. The OLED display has FHD+ resolution and is protected by a layer of Gorilla Glass 3.

Coming to the performance, the Vivo V20 Pro 5G is equipped with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G chipset. The processor is accompanied by 8GB RAM and 128GB storage. In the software department, the new launch is one of the first phones to boot Android 11 out of the box with FunTouch OS 11 on top.

The OnePlus Nord also features the same Snapdragon 765G processor but offers more configurations to choose from. The smartphone is being offered with up to 12GB RAM and up to 256GB storage. Out of the box, the OnePlus Nord boots OxygenOS 10.5 based on Android 10.

The Pixel 4A against misses out with its mid-range Qualcomm Snapdragon 730G processor. The processor is backed by 6GB RAM and 128GB storage. However, the smartphone comes with stock Android 10 with Android 11 already available.

The Vivo V20 Pro 5G is fitted with a triple rear camera setup featuring a 64-megapixel primary camera, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide lens, and a 2-megapixel mono sensor. On the front, the phone has a 44-megapixel main camera and an 8-megapixel ultra-wide lens.

The OnePlus Nord offers a 48-megapixel primary camera backed by an 8-megapixel ultra-wide lens, a 5-megapixel macro shooter, and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. In the front, there’s a 32-megapixel camera, accompanied by a secondary 8-megapixel ultra-wide lens.

In comparison, the Google Pixel 4A is quite underwhelming on paper with its single 12.2-megapixel camera on the back and an 8-megapixel selfie shooter. However, the smartphone features Google Pixel 4 camera modes including the astrophotography mode and has Google’s image processing, which is the best in the biz.

One Plus Nord and Vivo V20 Pro 5G are neck and neck here with two ties between them in terms of performance and battery. The OnePlus device has an edge when it comes to price and display, whereas the Vivo offering takes the crown in the camera department. The Nord offers 90Hz display, powerful processor, and more configurations.

In comparison, the V20 Pro 5G misses out on 90Hz refresh rate but makes up for it with the powerful front and rear cameras and the latest Android 11. Lastly, the Google Pixel 4A is for those who are looking for a compact smartphone with stock Android and a capable camera.
