Yesterday, Vivo held a launch event in Thailand to announce the Vivo V20 and Vivo V20 Pro 5G. While the Vivo V20 is an entirely new phone, the Vivo V20 Pro is a rebranded version of the Vivo S7 5G that debuted in China a few months back. Recent reports have revealed that the Vivo V20 family includes another member called the Vivo V20 SE. The company did not announce it in Thailand, but it is slated to go official in Indonesia on September 24th.

The Vivo V20 and Vivo V20 Pro 5G smartphones feature high-resolution selfie and rear cameras. Some of the other highlights of the Vivo V20 duo include 4,000mAh batteries with fast charging support.

The Vivo V20 Pro 5G features a wide notch to house dual selfie cameras
The Vivo V20 Pro 5G sports a metal and glass chassis. It features a 6.44-inch AMOLED display with a wide notch for two front-facing cameras. The screen offers full HD+ resolution of 1,080 x 2,400 pixels, a 20:9 aspect ratio, and HDR10 support.
The display notch of the Vivo V20 Pro 5G houses a main 44-megapixel selfie camera with f/2.0 aperture and autofocus, along with an 18-megapixel ultra-wide lens. The front cameras offer features like 4K selfie video, 240fps slow-motion selfie videos, and dual-view video that captures video through the front and rear cameras at the same time. The rear camera setup of the Vivo V20 Pro 5G houses a 64-megapixel Samsung GW1 sensor with f/1.89 aperture primary camera, a 120-degree 8-megapixel ultra-wide lens that is also capable of capturing portrait and macro shots, and a 2-megapixel mono lens.
The Snapdragon 765G mobile platform is the driving force of the Vivo V20 Pro 5G. The phone ships with 8GB of LPDDR4x RAM and 128GB of built-in UFS 2.1 storage. It runs Android 10 with FunTouchOS 11 on top.
The Vivo V20 Pro 5G draws power from a 4,000mAh battery that supports 33W FlashCharge technology. The phone also offers an in-display fingerprint scanner, dual SIM slots, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, and USB Type-C. The device lacks a microSD card slot and a 3.5mm audio jack.
At the Vivo V20 series launch event, the company only revealed the key specs of the Vivo V20. The handset features the Snapdragon 720G chipset, a front-facing 44-megapixel camera, 64-megapixel triple rear cameras, and a 4,000mAh battery with 33W FlashCharge technology. Its sports a slim profile of 7.38mm and weighs 171 grams.
Vivo V20 and Vivo V20 Pro 5G pricing and availability
The Vivo V20 Pro is now available for pre-orders in Thailand with pricing of THB 14,999 (~Rs 35,300). It will go on sale on September 30th and it can be availed in colours such as Sunset Melody, Moonlight Sonata, and Midnight Jazz. Vivo did not confirm the pricing of the Vivo V20. The V20 will come in Sunset Melody and Midnight Jazz colours. The Vivo V20 series are expected to launch in India soon.
