The Vivo V21 and Vivo V21e smartphones have launched today in Malaysia. The V21 has debuted as the world’s first smartphone to come equipped with OIS support for the selfie camera. Both Vivo V21 series phones are designed to capture stellar selfie shots through their 44-megapixel front-facing cameras.
The Vivo V21 and V21e have an impressive 64-megapixel triple camera setup on the rear. Both phones are packed with large batteries that support fast charging capabilities. In addition, these phones are fuelled by powerful mid-range processors.
Vivo V21 and Vivo V21e specifications and features
The Vivo V21 and V21e are equipped with a 6.44-inch display with Full HD+ resolution and an in-screen fingerprint scanner. The V21 features an E3 AMOLED screen that offers up to 800 nits brightness, HDR10+, and a 90Hz refresh rate, whereas the V21e’s AMOLED screen offers up to 570 nits brightness, HDR10 and a 60Hz refresh rate.
The Vivo V21 is powered by the Dimensity 800U chipset and 8GB of RAM. On the other hand, the Vivo V21e is driven by the Snapdragon 720G and 8GB of RAM. Both smartphones come with 3GB of extended RAM, which utilizes available storage space for running apps without lags.
The V21 gets 128GB of UFS 2.2 storage, whereas the V21e comes with 128GB of UFS 2.1 storage. Both phones have a dedicated microSD card slot. The V21 and V21e are backed by a 4,000mAh battery that supports 33W fast charging.
The Vivo V21 and V21e sport a 44-megapixel selfie camera. The V21 comes with support for OIS for the selfie camera, while the V21e lacks it. Both phones offer common photography features for the front camera such as eye autofocus, super night selfie, AI night portrait mode, portrait light effect, video face beauty, dual-view video, and 4K video recording.
The rear-facing triple camera unit of the Vivo V21 5G and V21e have a 64-megapixel main camera with an f/1.89 aperture, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide lens, and a 2-megapixel macro lens. The V21 5G’s main camera supports OIS, but the V21e does not feature it. Both phones offer features like eye autofocus, night mode, ultrawide night, art portrait video, super macro, bokeh portrait, and 4K video shooting.
The phones run Android 11 with FunTouch OS 11.1. Other features include dual SIM, 5G (only on V21), 4G, Bluetooth 5.1, GPS, and USB Type-C. Both devices lack a 3.5mm audio jack.
Vivo V21 and Vivo V21e pricing and availability
In Malaysia, the Vivo V21 and V21e are priced at RM 1,599 (~Rs 29,000) and RM 1,299 (~Rs 23,600), respectively. These phones are now available for pre-orders in the country, and they are scheduled to go on sale on May 5th. The Vivo V21 comes in colours like Dusk Blue and Sunset Dazzle, while the V21e can be bought in hues like Roman Black and Diamond Flare.
