Tomorrow, Vivo will be launching the Vivo S5 smartphone in China. A day before the launch, the smartphone with model number V1932A has appeared on Geekbench revealing some of its key specs. At the same time, the Vivo V17 has received approval from Thailand’s NBTC regulatory body which indicates that it may go official by the end of this month.
Vivo S5 Geekbench Listing
The Vivo V1932A Geekbench listing reveals that it is powered by the ‘sdm710’ chipset that has a base frequency of 1.71GHz. The same phone was spotted on TENAA with all its specs earlier this month. It had revealed that the phone is powered by a chipset that offers highest clocking speeds of 2.3GHz. Hence, it seems that the Vivo V1932A is powered by the Snapdragon 712 SoC that comprises of dual Kryo 360 Gold cores that are clocked at 2.3GHz, and hexa Kryo 360 CPU cores that work at 1.71GHz.
The Geekbench listing of Vivo V1932A has further stated that it has 8GB of RAM. It is preloaded with Android 9 Pie. In the single-core and multi-core Geekbench tests, the Vivo V1932A has scored 1,884 and 6,069 points, respectively.
The TENAA listing has revealed that the phone features a punch-hole enabled 6.44-inch AMOLED display with full HD+ resolution and an in-screen fingerprint reader. It has a 48-megapixel + 8-megapixel + 5-megapixel + 2-megapixel quad camera setup arranged in a diamond-shaped module. It has a front camera of 32-megapixels. It is expected to house a 4,010mAh battery with 22.5W fast charging support. The handset may release in 128GB and 256GB storage versions in China.
Vivo V17 NBTC Certification
On Thailand’s NBTC, the Vivo 1919 has appeared with Vivo V17 moniker. The NBTC certification has not revealed any specifications of the phone, but it suggests that its launch could be close at hand.
Last week, Russian tech publication Hi Tech Mail had shared real-life images of the Vivo V17. The images revealed that it has a waterdrop notch display with an in-screen fingerpint reader. It also features a diamond-patterned rear camera housing, but the arrangement of the quad camera lenses is different from that of Vivo S5.
The publication had claimed that the Vivo V17 has a 48-megapixel quad camera setup, 8GB of RAM, 128GB of built-in storage and a 4,500mAh battery. It also stated that the phone will be launched in Russia by end-November.
India is also another market that will reportedly receive the Vivo V17. 91mobiles had recently claimed that Vivo V17 will break cover in India by late November and will be available for buying by the first week of December. It could be priced around Rs 25,000. In September, Vivo India had launched the Vivo V17 Pro (first impressions) phone. There is a possibility that the Chinese firm may gradually discontinue the Vivo V17 Pro because of poor sales in India after the launch of Vivo V17.
