Chinese smartphone company Vivo today launched a new smartphone dubbed V5s in India, as expected. Available in crown gold and matte black colours, it will be up for grabs at Rs 18,990 starting May 6th. The Vivo V5s is designed with selfies in mind, much like previously introduced Vivo V5 and Vivo V5 Plus. Design-wise, it boasts of an unibody metal design.
Specs-wise, the Vivo V5s has a 5.5-inch 720p display featuring 2.5D curved glass and Corning Gorilla Glass protection. That being said, its quality and durability are expected to be top-notch. At the heart of the V5s is a MediaTek’s MT6750 octa-core processor alongside Mali-T860 GPU for graphics.
Furthermore, the Vivo V5s embraces 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. The good part, you can stretch the limit it up to 128GB. What is disappointing, however, is the fact it runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box. It packs a battery rated at 3,000mAh in capacity.
Camera-wise, the Vivo V5s houses a 13-megpixel main camera backed by PDAF and LED flash. Up front is a mammoth 20-megapixel secondary camera for selfies. There is also a fingerprint sensor embedded in the home button, which Vivo claims to unlock in 0.2 seconds.
The Vivo packs a variety connectivity solutions like 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, USB OTG, and Micro USB 2.0. That aside, the standard set of connectivity options include an accelerometer, light sensor, and digital compass. The Vivo V5s measures 7.5mm in thickness and weighs at 154g.
