Vivo has announced an extension on the warranty of its products in India. This is owing to the second wave of COVID-19 in the country and at the time when state governments are imposing lockdown.
The warranty period on all Vivo devices is extended by 30 days and in lockdown-imposed areas. However, it’s worth noting that the extension service varies and depends on the current condition of each state. Yesterday, POCO announced a similar two-month warranty extension in India. Users who want to get their smartphones repaired but can’t do so because of lockdowns in their state will benefit from the service.

Vivo offers 30 days warranty extension on its devices
Vivo says that the 30-day service extension will be valid for smartphone warranty, replacement or other offers falling under the lockdown period. Due to the lockdown, most service centres across India are closed. The brand added that the extension period will be calculated from the day when the service centre resumes business. Vivo is also offering a pick-up and drop service free of cost for customers so users don’t have to step out of their homes.
With the 30-day warranty extension, users don’t have to fret over the expiry of warranty service for their device in case it requires a repair. The service is also beneficial since the lockdown is extended across many states in the country. We can expect more smartphone brands to follow Vivo and POCO in offering an extended service period.
Meanwhile, Vivo said that it has announced Rs 10 crore aid towards COVID relief efforts in India.
