Vivo X Fold 2 is expected to launch in April this year in China, according to tipster Digital Chat Station. Last April, the company announced the Vivo X Fold foldable phone with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chip on board. In September 2022, it unveiled the Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1-powered Vivo X Fold+. Both have remained exclusive to the Chinese market. As per the tipster, the Vivo X Fold 2 will be the world’s first foldable phone to feature the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 mobile platform.
The tipster also shared details on the battery and charging capabilities of the X Fold 2. The Vivo X Flip clamshell device with a foldable screen is expected to be unveiled alongside the X Fold 2 in April.

Vivo X Fold Plus
The Snapdragon 8 Gen 2-powered Vivo X Fold 2 is expected to house 2 x 2340mAh batteries. Hence, it appears that the device will be backed by a 4,800mAh dual-cell battery. The leak also states that it will support 120W fast charging.
Previous reports have revealed that the Vivo X Fold 2’s inner screen will support 2K resolution. While the sizes of the outer and inner displays of the device are not known yet, both screens are expected to come integrated with an under-display fingerprint sensor. It is expected to run on the Android 13 OS, which will be overlaid with OriginOS for Pad.
The triple camera setup of the Vivo X Fold 2 will be headlined by a Sony IMX866 50-megapixel primary camera with OIS support. A 12-megapixel IMX663 ultra-wide lens and a 12-megapixel IMX663 telephoto camera might be present with it.
In related news, the Vivo X Flip is expected to come equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 chipset. It will have a dual-camera setup featuring a 50-megapixel Sony IMX66 main snapper and a 12-megapixel IMX663 ultra-wide lens. It is unclear whether the Vivo X Fold 2 and X Flip 2 will be released in India.
