Vivo X Fold hands-on image has surfaced on Weibo. Vivo’s first foldable phone was recently spotted in China’s subway station, enclosed in a thick protective case. The leaked image shows how the device will appear when it is unfolded.
The X Fold from Vivo was previously rumoured to debut with the Vivo NEX Fold branding. However, now that Vivo is said to have dropped its NEX brand, the company’s first foldable smartphone is likely to be called the Vivo X Fold.
Vivo X Fold design appears ahead of launch
The Vivo X Fold hands-on image shows that the right side of its foldable display has a punch-hole placed at the top-centre position. The right edge of the device has a volume rocker and a power key. Another physical key is available on the left spine of the device.
The previously leaked schematic of the Vivo X Fold reveals that it will sport a curved punch-hole display on the front. It also revealed that its rear shell will have a large block housing a quad-camera unit.
Vivo X Fold specifications (rumoured)
Reports have revealed that the Vivo X Fold will come with a 6.5-inch AMOLED display that offers an FHD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. It will come with an 8-inch AMOLED foldable display on the inside, which will offer a QHD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. Both displays are likely to feature an in-screen fingerprint scanner.
The Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chip will be present under the hood of the Vivo X Fold. It will house a 4,600mAh battery that supports 80W fast charging. The device is also rumoured to support 50W wireless charging.
There is no information available on the front cameras of the Vivo X Fold. The foldable phone will feature a 50-megapixel main camera, a 48-megapixel ultrawide camera, a 12-megapixel telephoto lens with 2x optical zoom, and an 8-megapixel periscope zoom camera that has 5x optical zoom on its back.
Vivo X Fold launch date (rumoured)
Vivo is yet to confirm the arrival of the X Fold but speculations are rife that it may launch as early as this month in China.
