Vivo India has been teasing the arrival of the Vivo X50 series for the past few weeks. The brand has now confirmed the launch date of the phones in India. The X50 series consisting of the Vivo X50, Vivo X50 Pro and Vivo X50 Pro+ had gone official in China last month.
Vivo has confirmed that the X50 and X50 Pro will be launched in India, however, it is speculated that the Vivo X50 Pro+ smartphone will not be launching in markets outside of China. The company has also confirmed that it will be announcing the Vivo TWS Neo earbuds alongside the X50 smartphones on Thursday.
Vivo X50 series launch date in India
The Vivo X50 series will be launched at 12pm on July 16th, and will be available through Flipkart and Amazon in India. There is no word on the offline sales of the lineup at present. Vivo will be bringing its X-series phones after a long hiatus. The last time it launched an X-series smartphone was in November 2018 when it announced the Vivo X21.
The Vivo TWO Neo earbuds had launched along with the X50 series in June with a price tag of 499 Yuan (~Rs 5,350) in China. It comes with features like 14.2mm drivers, Bluetooth 5.2 connectivity, aptX Adaptive codec, and up to 27 hours of battery life with the charging case. There is no word on the pricing for Vivo TWS Neo earbuds in India.
Vivo X50 and Vivo X50 Pro specifications and features
The Vivo X50 and X50 Pro are equipped with 6.56-inch FHD+ OLED panels with support 90Hz refresh rate. The X50 comes with a flat-screen, whereas the Pro variant has a curved display. Both phones have an in-screen fingerprint reader and 32-megapixel front-facing camera.
The Snapdragon 765G along with LPDDR4x and UFS 2.1 storage fuels the Vivo X50 and X50 Pro. The X50 has a 4,200mAh battery, while the X50 Pro house a slightly larger 4,315mAh unit. Both phones come with 33W fast charging support.
The Vivo X50 has a quad-camera unit that comprises an OIS-assisted 48-megapixel Sony IMX598 main camera, a 13-megapixel portrait lens, an 8-megapixel superwide lens, and a 5-megapixel macro shooter. The quad-camera system of the Vivo X50 Pro has a gimbal-OIS assisted 48-megapixel Sony IMX598 main snapper, an 8-megapixel periscope telephoto lens, a 3-megapixel portrait sensor and an 8-megapixel ultrawide lens.
There is no information available on the pricing of Vivo X50 and X50 Pro for India. In China, the Vivo X50 starts at RMB 3,498 (~Rs 37,550), and the X50 Pro begins at RMB 4,298 (~Rs 46,150).
