Vivo X50 and X50 Pro with 90Hz displays and 48MP quad cameras launched in India: price, specifications

Last month, Vivo had launched the X50 series in China. The smartphone brand has now brought the standard Vivo X50 and X50 Pro to the Indian market. Both the new offerings are mid-range smartphones with several specifications in common. The flagship X50 Pro+ has not been launched in India at the moment. 

In India, Vivo is making a comeback with its X-series smartphones after nearly two years. The brand offers only one X-series device dubbed as Vivo X21 that debuted way back in 2018. Vivo has also announced the TWS Neo earbuds alongside the smartphones. Let’s take a look at the newly launched X50 series below. 

Vivo X50 and X50 Pro specifications and features

The Vivo X50 features a 90Hz OLED display

The Vivo X50 and X50 Pro sport punch-hole FHD+ AMOLED displays measuring 6.5-inches. The former comes with a flat screen while the other features a curved display. Both devices come with 90Hz refresh rate panel, 180Hz response rate, HDR10+ support and an in-screen fingerprint scanner. Design-wise, the X50 and X50 Pro feature a rectangular rear camera module, but the sensor setup is different in both devices. The standard variant is offered in Frost Blue and Glaze Black colours while the Pro model can be availed in single Alpha Grey colour option. 

Under the hood, the Vivo X50 is powered by the Snapdragon 730 processor, while the X50 Pro is fuelled by the Snapdragon 765G processor with support for 5G networks. The devices pack up to 8GB RAM and up to 256GB internal storage. The smartphones are backed by 4,200mAh and 4,315mAh batteries respectively with both phones supporting 33W fast charging. Software-wise, the Vivo X50 series run FunTouch OS based on Android 10. 

On the optics front, the Vivo X50 series is equipped with a quad-camera setup. The configuration on both devices consists of a 48MP IMX598 primary sensor accompanied by an 8MP super-wide-angle lens and a 13MP bokeh sensor. The remaining sensor on the standard variant includes a 5MP macro unit while the Pro variant features an 8MP periscope telephoto lens with 60x superzoom. The Pro model comes with micro-gimbal stabilisation technology for stable and shake-free photos and video shooting. The standard variant features OIS+EIS stabiliser. Both the X50 smartphones feature a 32MP Samsung GD front-facing camera. 

As for camera features, the X50 and X50 Pro come with extreme night vision mode, pastor mode, super night HDR, Pro sports mode and motion AF tracking.

Vivo X50 and X50 Pro price in India

The Vivo X50 and X50 Pro are offered in 8GB + 128GB and 8GB + 256GB RAM and storage configurations. The standard variant is priced at Rs 34,999 and Rs 37,999, respectively. The Pro model is only available in 8GB+256GB configuration and carries a price tag of Rs 49,999. Both smartphones will be available for purchase from Amazon and Flipkart with sales commencing from 24th July. HDFC Bank and ICICI Bank cardholders can avail cashback worth Rs 4,000 on purchasing the smartphone.
