- The Vivo X60 Pro+ flagship with Snapdragon 888 has launched in China
- It’s the world’s first smartphone with two main cameras
- It sports a 120Hz refresh rate display
Vivo unveiled the Vivo X60 and Vivo X60 Pro smartphones at the end of 2020 in China. At the event, it revealed that the Snapdragon 888 SoC powered Vivo X60 Pro+ will launch in January. Today, the brand held an event in China to announce the Vivo X60 Pro+.
Like the Vivo X50 Pro+ smartphone, the Vivo X60 Pro sports a high refresh rate display, a flagship chipset, and a decent battery with fast charging capabilities. However, the major highlight of the Vivo X60 Pro+ is that it is the world’s first smartphone that features not one, but two main cameras. Vivo has collaborated with optics company ZEISS to offer an optimised photography experience on the X60 Pro+.
Vivo X60 Pro+ specifications and features
The Vivo X60 Pro+ has the same 6.56-inch AMOLED display with a top-centered selfie camera cutout, which can be found on the Vivo X60 and Vivo X60 Pro smartphones. The screen supports a Full HD+ resolution of 1,080 x 2,376 pixels, a 120Hz refresh rate, a 240Hz touch sampling rate, a 19.8:9 aspect ratio, HDR10+, and P3 color gamut. The display is also integrated with a fingerprint sensor. It offers a screen-to-body ratio of 92.17 percent.
Instead of the Exynos 1080 chip found on the other Vivo X60 series phones, the X60 Pro+ features the Snapdragon 888 5G mobile platform. It is coupled with LPPDR5 RAM and UFS 3.1 storage. The device lacks support for external storage and it comes loaded with OriginOS 1.0 based on Android 11.
For snapping selfies, the Vivo X60 Pro Plus has a 32-megapixel front camera with f/2.45 aperture. The rear side of the phone has a quad-camera setup that includes a 50-megapixel Samsung GN1 main snapper with f/1.57 aperture and a Sony IMX589 48-megapixel ultrawide lens as the second main camera with OIS and 114-degree FOV. The latter comes equipped with the 2nd generation micro-gimbal OIS technology.
The dual main cameras are coupled with a 32-megapixel telephoto lens with 50mm focal length and an 8-megapixel periscope camera with 5x optical zoom and 60x digital zoom support. All four cameras support autofocus.
The Vivo X60 Pro+ has a 4,200mAh battery that carries support for 55W rapid charging. The other features that can be found on the device include face unlock, CS4314 Hi-Fi audio chip, dual-SIM support, 5G, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, NFC, and USB Type-C.
Vivo X60 Pro+ pricing and availability
The Vivo X60 Pro+ has arrived in China in two options such as 8GB RAM + 128GB storage and 12GB RAM + 256GB storage. They are priced at RMB 4,998 (~Rs 56,400) and RMB 5,998 (~Rs 67,700), respectively. It comes in two colour choices as Dark Blue and Classic Orange.
The Vivo X50 Pro+ remained exclusive to the Chinese market. Hence, it is likely that the X60 Pro+ may not sell out of the home market. As far as India is concerned, Vivo is expected to launch the Vivo X60 and Vivo X60 Pro in the near future.
