Chinese brand Vivo has launched a new budget smartphone in Hong Kong and Vietnam. The brand has expanded its Y-series and the latest offering is dubbed as Vivo Y12s. The device packs decent specifications in the entry-level price segment.
Some key highlights of the Vivo Y12s include a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, big battery, and Helio P35 chipset. Let’s take a look at what the smartphone offers out of the box.
Vivo Y12s specifications and features
The Vivo Y12s offers a 6.51-inch IPS LCD display bearing an HD+ resolution and a waterdrop notch. It features a side-mounted fingerprint scanner embedded in the power button. The gradient back panel houses a rectangular camera setup at the top left corner.
The Vivo Y12s comes with an 8MP front-facing camera for selfies. On the back, the device has a dual-camera setup of 13MP primary sensor and a 2MP secondary lens.
On the hardware front, the Vivo Y121s is powered by an Helio P35 SoC. It is coupled with 3GB RAM and the phone offers 32GB onboard storage. For additional needs, there is a microSD card slot for storage expansion. Software-wise, the smartphone runs FunTouch OS 11 based on Android 10. Vivo is said to introduce a new Android skin called Origin OS in the coming weeks.
The Vivo Y12s is backed by a 5,000mAh battery unit with support for 10W charging. Connectivity options on the device include dual SIM support, microUSB port, WiFi, Bluetooth 5.0 and a 3.5mm jack.
Vivo Y12s pricing and availability
The Vivo Y12s is priced at HK$ 1,098 (~Rs 10,553) and is offered in Phantom Black and Glacier Blue colours. The smartphone is available for purchase in Hongkong and Vietnam markets. There is no word if the phone will make its way to India.
