Vivo has launched a new budget smartphone in Malaysia. The device is dubbed as the Vivo Y20 (2021). It is a slightly upgraded variant of the Vivo Y12s that debuted in Hong Kong and Vietnam last month. However, the device retains the same design language as the Y12s.

Prior to launch, the Vivo Y20 (2021) had appeared on Geekbench with model number V2043. The smartphone packs a big battery, a side-mounted fingerprint scanner and decent hardware. Let’s take a look below.
Vivo Y20 (2021) specifications and features
The Vivo Y20 (2021) offers a 6.51-inch IPS LCD display bearing an HD+ screen resolution and a waterdrop notch. It comes with a side-mounted fingerprint scanner embedded in the power button. Design-wise, the device sports a gradient back panel with a rectangular camera module.
On the hardware front, the Vivo Y20 (2021) is powered by a MediaTek Helio P35 SoC. It is paired with 4GB RAM and 64GB onboard storage expandable via microSD card slot. The smartphone is backed by a 5,000mAh battery unit with support for 10W charging. Software-wise, the device runs on Android 10 with FunTouch OS layered on the top.
The Vivo Y20 (2021) sports a triple camera setup comprising of a 13MP main sensor, a 2MP bokeh lens and a 2MP macro unit. On the front, the device is fitted with an 8MP selfie snapper. Connectivity options on the smartphone include WiFi, Bluetooth 5.0, microUSB and 3.5mm jack.
Vivo Y20 (2021) pricing and availability
The Vivo Y20 (2021) is priced at RM 599 (~Rs 10,861) in Malaysia. It is offered in Dawn White and Nebula Blue colours. There is no word if the smartphone will make its way to India.
