Yesterday, Vivo launched the Y20G smartphone in India. It arrived with Helio G80 SoC, 6GB RAM and 18W fast charging. Now, the Chinese brand has introduced a new smartphone in its Y-series called Vivo Y31.
The Vivo Y31 is the successor to last year’s Vivo Y30. The latest offering packs major upgrades over its predecessor. The device is offered under the sub-Rs 18k price bracket. Let’s find out what the Vivo Y31 has in store for us.
Vivo Y31 specifications and features
On the display front, the Vivo Y31 features a 6.58-inch LCD screen with FHD+ resolution. It has a waterdrop notch instead of a punch-hole cutout for the front camera. Design-wise, the Vivo Y31 sports a rectangular rear camera module first seen with the Vivo X50 (review) series. The smartphone comes with a fingerprint scanner that is embedded in the power button.
In the photography department, the Vivo Y31’s triple camera setup comprises of a 48MP main sensor, a 2MP bokeh and a third 2MP lens. On the front, the device features a 16MP selfie snapper with f/2.0 aperture. The smartphone features electronic image stabilisation, multi-frame noise reduction algorithm, slow-mo, night portrait and other camera modes.
On the hardware front, the Vivo Y31 is powered by a Snapdragon 662 processor. The SoC is paired with 6GB RAM and 128GB onboard storage that is expandable up to 1TB via microSD card slot. The smartphone is backed by a 5,000mAh battery unit with 18W fast charging via Type-C port. Software-wise, the Vivo Y31 runs on Funtouch OS 11 based on the latest Android 11.

The Vivo Y31 is priced at Rs 16,490 in India. It is offered in Racing Black and Ocean Blue colours and will be available for purchase on Vivo India e-store, Amazon, Flipkart and across all offline partner stores.
