The Vivo Y51 mid-range smartphone has gone official in Indonesia today. A smartphone with the same moniker had launched in Pakistan a few months back. However, the Y51 heading to the Indonesian market sports an entirely different design and has enhanced specs.
The Vivo Y51 sports a camera module that is like the Vivo X50 series and Vivo V20 Pro 5G. It houses a 48-megpaixel triple camera system. At the front, it is fitted with a waterdrop notch screen with a tall aspect ratio. Also, the device comes loaded with the latest version of Android.

The Vivo Y51 has a 6.58-inch IPS LCD screen that produces a Full HD+ resolution of 2,408 x 1,080 pixels and P3 color gamut. The smartphone boots to FunTouch OS 11 based on Android 11 OS. For security, it has a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, and it carries support for AI face unlock.
The triple camera setup of the Vivo Y51 has a 48-megapixel primary camera with f/1.79 aperture, an 8-megapixel ultrawide lens, and a 2-megapixel macro lens. The rear camera offers features like time-lapse photography, HDR, Super Night Mode, Ultra Stable Video, and 4K video recording. It has a front-facing camera of 16-megapixel that supports Super Night Selfie mode for shooting enhanced low-light selfies.
At the helm of the Vivo Y51 is the Snapdragon 665 chipset and 8GB of RAM. It has a native storage of 128GB, and it features a microSD card slot for more storage. The handset is backed by a huge battery of 5,000mAh, which comes with 18W fast charging support.
For enhanced audiovisual experience, the Vivo Y51 comes with Audio Booster feature that can increase the sound produced by the speaker cavity by up to 73.1dB. On the connectivity front, the Vivo Y51 offers users features like dual SIM support, 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 5.1, GPS, USB Type-C, and a 3.5mm audio jack.

The Vivo Y51 is priced at IDR 3,599,000 (~Rs 19,000) in Indonesia. The handset comes in two colour variants such as Titanium Sapphire and Crystal Symphony. In related news, Vivo is reportedly gearing to launch the Vivo Y51 smartphone in India. It is expected to replace the Vivo S1 Pro that debuted at the beginning of this year. However, the variant heading to India is the one that had launched in Pakistan in September.
