The Vivo Y53s 5G has launched in China today. It is an affordable 5G smartphone powered by a Snapdragon chipset. The latest offering packs some impressive specifications.
The Vivo Y53s 5G is the successor to last year’s Y52s. It comes with a high refresh rate, gradient back panel, massive battery with fast charging, 64MP cameras and more. It is unclear if the brand plans to launch it in other markets like India as of now. Read on to find more about what the smartphone offers out of the box.
Vivo Y53s 5G specifications and features
The Vivo Y53s 5G offers a 6.53-inch waterdrop notch display bearing FHD+ resolution. It features a 90Hz refresh rate screen. The power button doubles up as a fingerprint scanner. The smartphone houses a rectangular camera module on the rear.
On the imaging front, the Vivo Y53s 5G sports a 64MP main sensor paired with a secondary 2MP macro lens. The device is fitted with an 8MP front-facing camera for selfies and face unlock.
In terms of performance, the Vivo Y53s 5G is equipped with a Snapdragon 480 processor with an integrated X51 5G modem. It packs up to 8GB RAM and offers 256GB onboard storage. The smartphone draws its power from a 5,000mAh battery unit with support for 18W fast charging. It runs OriginOS 1.0 based on Android 11.
Connectivity options on the Vivo Y53s 5G include SA and NSA dual-mode 5G, sub-6Ghz, USB-C port, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS and a 3.5mm jack.

The Vivo Y53s 5G is priced at RMB 1,799 (~Rs 20,510) for the base 8GB + 128GB variant while the 8GB + 256GB option costs RMB 1,999 (~Rs 22,790). The smartphone is offered in Starry Night, Sea Salt and Iridescent colours. It will be available for purchase in China from June 11th.
