Vivo, the popular brand known for their selfie camera phones has launched a new product in India, dubbed as the Vivo Y71i. This phone is the latest addition to Vivo’s affordable Y-series of smartphones. The phone has been launched for the offline market for now. Let’s check out what the phone has to offer.
Display and Design
On the front, this offering has a large 6-inch FullView display having a resolution of 1440 x 720 pixels. The phone also adopts the tall 18:9 aspect ratio which makes it suitable for media consumption. In terms of design, the phone looks fairly durable and most of the phone’s front is occupied by the display with thin bezels. There is no fingerprint sensor located on either side of the device, so the phone will rely on face unlocking backed up by the conventional PIN/Password method.
Performance and Storage
The Vivo Y71i is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 425, which is an octa-core processor. This processor is quite an efficient chipset in the budget range and offers good performance. In addition to the processor, the phone packs in 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. The storage can be expanded up to 256GB through a microSD card, thankfully.
Camera and Software
On the camera front, the latest smartphone from Vivo’s Y-series comes with a 5-megapixel snapper on the front to capture decent selfies. In low light conditions, however, the phone’s selfie camera may not be able to capture the best images. The primary camera that is located on the back comprises of an 8-megapixel sensor coupled with LED flash. We can expect this camera to capture good images as well, however, in low light conditions, you may want to keep your expectations on the lower side. As far as software is concerned, the phone ships with FunTouch OS 4.0 which is built on top of Android 8.1 Oreo.
Connectivity and Battery
In terms of connectivity, the phone features all the conventional solutions including 3G, 4G with VoLTE, WiFi, GPS and Bluetooth. The smartphone draws its power from a 3,360mAh battery unit located underneath its shell.
The phone has been launched for the offline market as of now and costs Rs. 8,990.
