Vivo has announced the Vivo Y93 mid-range phone in China. What’s interesting about this device is that it is the first phone to arrive with the new Snapdragon 439 SoC that was made official in June this year. Moreover, the phone is equipped with some notable features like a waterdrop notch screen and dual rear cameras.
Vivo Y93 Specifications and Features
The Vivo Y93 measures 155.11 x 75.09 x 8.28mm and it houses a 6.2-inch waterdrop notch display that produces HD+ resolution of 720 x 1520 pixels. The screen offers a tall aspect ratio of 19:9. The 12nm Snapdragon 439 chipset that powers the smartphone includes 8 Cortex A53 cores, along with Adreno 505 graphics.
The SD439 chipset is accompanied by 4 GB of RAM. It features an inbuilt storage of 64 GB. There is a microSD card slot for additional storage. The FunTouch OS 4.5 based Android 8.1 Oreo OS is preinstalled on the device. The handset is fueled by 4,030mAh battery, but there is no mention of fast charging support on the official product page of the device. Another important feature that is missing from the phone is a fingerprint scanner.
For optics, the vertical dual camera setup present on the rear side of the Vivo Y93 includes a 13-megapixel primary sensor and a 2-megapixel sensor. It also features a front-facing camera of 8-megapixel that can not only take beautified selfies, but also offer a face recognition feature. The usual connectivity features available on the Vivo Y93 are 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, microUSB 2.0, GPS and a 3.5mm audio jack.

The Vivo Y93 carries a price tag of 1,499 Yuan (~Rs. 18,500) in China. It can be availed in colors like Zixia Red and Starry Night Black. There is no information available on whether the company will be releasing this phone outside of China.
