In May, Vivo launched the Snapdragon 660 powered Vivo Z1 as its first Z-series smartphone. Today, the Chinese manufacturer has introduced the Vivo Z3 to succeed it. Compared to Z1, the Z3 features smaller notched display, better processor and gaming capabilities.
Vivo Z3 Specifications, Features and Pricing
The dimensions of the Vivo Z3 are 155.97 x 75.63 x 8.1mm. It is equipped with 2.5D glass panels on its front and rear. The handset comes in three color gradient options such as Starry Night, Aurora Blue and Dream Pink.
A waterdrop IPS LCD screen measuring 6.3 inches is available on the Vivo Z3. It delivers an aspect ratio of 19:9 and features full HD+ resolution. The handset impresses with its 90.3 percent screen real estate.
The base model of the Vivo Z3 is fueled by the Snapdragon 670 chipset and 4 GB of RAM. It is equipped with inbuilt storage of 128 GB. The second variant is powered by the Snapdragon 710 chipset and it includes 6 GB of RAM and an internal storage of 64 GB. The highest configuration model of the Z3 includes Snapdragon 710, 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of native storage. It comes with a microSD card slot for expansion.
A 3,315mAh battery equipped with dual-engine fast charging technology by the company is present under the hood of the device. The Android 8.1 Oreo OS available on the smartphone is customised with the latest FunTouch 4.5 UI. The Chinese manufacturer has included the Jovi AI assistant and gaming mode on the Z3. For enhanced gaming experience, the smartphone offers features like DND mode, PiP (Picture-in-Picture) mode and 4D gaming. The smartphone is also equipped with support for Dual-Turbo technology. It is a software acceleration technology by Vivo that enhances the performance of the phone while accessing apps and games.
The rear of the Vivo Z3 features a vertical dual camera system that includes a 16-megapixel primary sensor and a 2-megapixel secondary sensor. The AI dual camera supports scene detection. The front-facing 12-megapixel selfie shooter is equipped with an AI algorithm and portrait segmentation technology that allows the phone to capture professional portrait shot with light effects like natural light, studio light and stereo light. The additional IR lens available on the Vivo Z3 allows it to support face unlock even in the dark. The other features of the smartphone are a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner, 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 5.0, microUSB 2.0 and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
The base variant of the Vivo Z3 carries a price tag of 1,598 Yuan (~Rs. 16,900). The two Snapdragon 710 editions of the Z3 are priced at 1,898 Yuan (~Rs. 20,100) and 2,298 Yuan (~Rs. 24,000) respectively . The handset is now available for pre-order in China and its sales are slated to start from November 1st. The Chinese manufacturer is yet to confirm whether the Vivo Z3 will be made available outside of its home market.
