Vivo Z5 To Launch In China On July 31st

Vivo is holding a launch event in China on July 31st for a new smartphone launch. It is speculated that the company will announce the much-rumoured phone  Vivo Z5. Recently, a mysterious Vivo phone with model number V1921 surfaced on TENAA, which is expected to be the upcoming Z5. Vivo has reportedly sent out media invites for the launch event in China.

The upcoming Vivo Z5 is expected to be a slightly upgraded variant of the Z5x, launched in May this year. The TENAA listing suggests that the device may drop the punch-hole camera design and instead come with a waterdrop notch. It may also feature an in-display fingerprint scanner instead of the rear-mounted scanner found on the Z5x. The Vivo Z5 is expected to feature a smaller 6.39-inch FHD+ display with AMOLED panel on the top.

According to the TENAA listing, another difference between the Z5 and Z5x is in the camera department. The former is expected to come with a superior 48MP main sensor as a part of the triple rear camera setup. It will be accompanied by an 8MP secondary lens and a 2MP depth sensor. The device may feature an upgraded 32MP front-facing camera. The listing reveals the presence of an unspecified octa-core 2.3GHz chipset under the hood. It will be paired with 6GB and 8GB RAM. The device may ship in three non-expandable storage variants of 64GB,128GB, and 256GB. The Vivo Z5 could be powered by a 4,420mAh battery unit with support for 22.5W fast charging.

Vivo is yet to officially confirm about the upcoming Vivo Z5 on Weibo and other social channels. We will know more in the coming weeks.
