Vi is offering 1GB free of high-speed data to its subscribers in India for one week. Vodafone Idea recently assumed a new identity as ‘Vi’, which uses the initials of both Vodafone and Idea. After the merger in 2018, this new move signifies the complete merger of the two telcos. Now, the new move is being seen as the telco’s attempt to lure inactive users.

With this offer, Vi is aiming to bring back customers who are on a Vodafone or Idea connection but are not using the SIM actively. As of now, it’s not clear whether the benefit is being rolled out to all Vi users or a select few users at the moment. Here’s everything we know as of now.
Vi offers 1GB free data to its subscribers
Vodafone India or Vi is providing its subscribers base with complimentary 1GB 4G data. The data benefit comes with a validity of seven days. This means if not used within the duration of the validity, the data benefit will expire. Clearly, the benefit by the telco is intended to revive the inactive users and get them to begin use their Vi connection again.
Apart from this, the telco is also taking several other measures to ensure that its subscribers stay loyal. The telco recently announced MPL (Mobile Premier League) and Zomato benefits for its postpaid users. Vi is offering Rs 200 off on select Zomato orders to its postpaid users. Apart from that, subscribers are eligible to win Rs 125 MPL cash to play games on the e-sports platform and win some real cash.
Moreover, Vodafone Idea is the only other telco in India offering Zee5 Premium membership. Vi offers the benefit with five of its prepaid plans. Airtel also offers the same but with only one plan.
