Smartphone brands and camera makers are known for launching phones with branded camera modules. Here are the best smartphone and camera brand collaborations.


Xiaomi is reportedly working on the Xiaomi 12 Ultra. It is being speculated that the upcoming flagship will come with a Leica-branded powerful camera setup.

Vivo-Carl Zeiss

Vivo and Carl Zeiss announced a partnership in 2020. They introduced the Zeiss-powered imaging system in the Vivo X60 Pro. It had a Gimbal Stabilisation system and Extreme Night Vision.

Nokia-Carl Zeiss

The association between Nokia and Carl Zeiss goes back to the N-series of devices. Both brands revived their partnership in 2017 without being exclusive.

Sony-Carl Zeiss

Sony announced a partnership with Carl Zeiss in 2020 for its Xperia series smartphones. The Xperia 1 II was the first to feature Zeiss’s optics with T* anti-reflective coating.


Huawei announced its partnership with Leica back in 2016. The Huawei P9 was the first Leica-branded offering and P50 series smartphones are said to be the last.


OPPO announced a three-year partnership with Hasselblad in February this year. The partnership is for OPPO’s Find X series to create improved mobile photography experience.


OnePlus announced a three-year partnership with Hasselblad in 2021. Together they will co-develop the next generation of smartphone camera systems for future OnePlus flagships.


Not many know this but BlackBerry partnered with German brand Schneider-Kreuznach for the BlackBerry Priv. The camera offered optical stabiliser and 1080p video.
