OPPO Reno 7 Pro 5G first impressions

Here’s our first impressions and unboxing of the Reno 7 Pro.

OPPO launched the Reno 7 and Reno 7 Pro in India last month. The Pro variant features powerful specs and an attractive design.

The phone comes in a single 12GB + 256GB variant and retails at Rs 39,999. It can be purchased from the OPPO India website, Flipkart, and leading retail stores.

The Reno 7 Pro comes in a signature teal Reno series box with minimal branding. You get the device, protective case, SIM ejector, 44W fast charger, Type-C cable, and documentation.

Box contents

The OPPO Reno 7 Pro 5G ships with a 6.55” FHD+ S-AMOLED display panel. The screen features a 90Hz refresh rate and an in-display fingerprint scanner. The display is sharp and vivid.

The OPPO Reno 7 Pro 5G is equipped with a MediaTek Dimensity 1200-Max SoC. The Max variant has been developed by OPPO in collaboration with MediaTek and is a beefed up Dimensity 1200.

The OPPO Reno 7 Pro 5G boots the latest Color OS 12 based on Android 11. The software does come with bloatware but has useful features as well like gestures, always-on display, and more.

The OPPO Reno 7 Pro features a 50MP Sony IMX766 sensor with an 8MP wide-angle and 2MP macro lens. On the front, there’s a 32MP Sony IMX709 sensor with DOL-HDR.

The OPPO Reno 7 Pro 5G is fitted with a 4,500mAh battery featuring support for 65W SuperVOOC charging. The phone charges fully in just under an hour and lasts a day and a half.

Conclusion

The Reno 7 Pro is a good update over the Reno 6 Pro. If a stylish phone with a powerful camera is what you want, go for it.

However, I would have preferred a 120Hz display at this price.
