Huawei has recently launched its first clamshell device with a foldable display - P50 Pocket in global markets.

The smartphone competes with Samsung’s Galaxy Z Flip 3. Here’s how this two compare.

The Galaxy Z Flip 3 is available at Samsung’s online store and leading retail stores. The P50 Pocket is available in Africa, Asia Pacific, Europe, South America, and the Middle East. 


The P50 Pocket features a 6.9” 120Hz foldable OLED display and an outer 1.04” OLED panel. The Galaxy Z Flip 3 offers a 6.7” 120Hz foldable AMOLED display and a secondary 1.9” AMOLED panel.


Both Huawei P50 Pocket and Galaxy Z Flip 3 ship with Snapdragon 888 SoC. Additionally, both phones have LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.1 storage. 


The P50 Pocket flaunts a 40MP + 13MP + 32MP rear setup and a 10.7MP selfie camera. In contrast, the Galaxy Z Flip 3 12MP + 12MP rear setup and 10MP selfie shooter.


The Huawei P50 Pocket boots EMUI 12 out of the box without Google Services. The Galaxy Z Flip 3, on the other hand, ships with OneUI 3.5 based on Android 11.


The P50 Pocket has a 4,000mAh battery with 40W fast charging. The Galaxy Z Flip 3 has a 3,300mAh unit but with 25W fast charging, 11W wireless charging, and 4.5W reverse wireless charging.

The P50 Pocket offers a better package but without Google Services and might not launch in India.

The Galaxy Z Flip 3 is cheaper and has everything you need from a flagship clamshell device.
