WhatsApp Avatars Are Here! – How To Create Your Own WhatsApp Avatar?

  • Meta is rolling out WhatsApp Avatars in WhatsApp for Android and iOS.
  • WhatsApp Avatars lets you create customisable avatars, much like Bitmoji.
  • Users can send Avatars as stickers and set them as profile pictures.

Meta has previously tried Avatars on Facebook, which looked eerily similar to what Snapchat has with its Bitmoji. Now Meta is bringing similar functionality to WhatsApp with WhatsApp Avatars.

WhatsApp Avatars is a highly customisable sticker pack that you can send to anyone on WhatsApp. Not only that, but you can also set it as your profile picture.

WhatsApp Avatars 2

“Your avatar is a digital version of you that can be created from billions of combinations of diverse hairstyles, facial features, and outfits. On WhatsApp, you can now use your personalised avatar as your profile photo or choose from one of 36 custom stickers reflecting many different emotions and actions.”, WhatsApp said in the blog post announcing this feature.

How to Create WhatsApp Avatars?

WhatsApp Avatar

Follow these steps to create your own WhatsApp Avatars:

  1. On a WhatsApp chat, click on the emoji and sticker switcher.
  2. You’ll find a new button on the right of the stickers icon for WhatsApp Avatars. If you don’t see this option, you don’t have this feature yet. Once it’s enabled on your device, you’ll find this feature.
  3. Clicking on this tab will take you to the menu where you can create a new Avatar.
  4. You’ll find the option to create your Avatars in it; you can customise as you would like.
  5. After creating the Avatars, you can send them to any chats or set the Avatar as your profile picture.

WhatsApp Avatars Availability

WhatsApp just officially announced the feature; it will be available on all devices in the next few days. I didn’t get this feature now, but my friends have got it. One of my friends already had this feature from the last month as he was in WhatsApp beta.

You can try to update your WhatsApp from Google Play Store or Apple App Store. On Android, you can also try to update it to the latest beta by sideloading the beta APK.
