WhatsApp’s message reaction notifications feature is likely to roll out soon. The latest beta version of WhatsApp that has been rolled out to Android users reveals that the company is closer to wider rollout of the feature.

Rival messaging platforms such as Telegram and Signal are already offering message reactions feature. Recent reports have revealed that the Meta-owned company has been working on the feature for a few months. Now that it has appeared on the latest edition of WhatsApp, it seems that the company may make it available to all users through a future update.

As can be seen in the above image, the latest beta version update that has been released for Android users includes a toggle for Reaction Notifications. The inclusion of the toggle is a good hint that Android users will be able to react to messages through emojis. The toggle will let users manage message reaction notifications for individual and group chats.

The same kind of notifications for message reactions for WhatsApp users on iOS was rolled out in October through the beta version It appears that the company is planning to launch the messages reaction feature as well as its notifications to Android and iOS users. GSMArena has learned from a source that the message reaction notifications is “planned to be released in a future update” for Android users.

In related news, WhatsApp is working on a new “My Contacts Except” privacy function. It will allow a user to select people from the contact list and exclude others from viewing their status. WhatsApp is also said to be working on some other features such as sending/receiving photos or videos without compressing the quality and play/pause feature while video recording.
