The Xiaomi 12, 12X, and 12 Pro have launched today in China. The company also unveiled the all-new MIUI 13 alongside the Xiaomi 12 trio. The MIUI 13 has been designed to function fluidly on devices with different-sized screens such as smartphones, tablets, TVs, smartwatches, and smart home products. It comes with a wide range of widgets and offers enhanced privacy and security features. It will be rolled out to Xiaomi 12, 12X, 12 Pro, 11, 11 Pro, and 11 Ultra by the end of January 2022.
Coming back to the Xiaomi 12 series, the 12X features the Snapdragon 870 chipset, whereas the 12 and 12 Pro are equipped with the all-new Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC. These phones are fitted with 120Hz AMOLED displays and 50-megapixel triple cameras. They are packed with large batteries that support up to 120W fast charging.
Xiaomi 12 and 12 Pro specifications and features
The Xiaomi 12 is a compact flagship phone measuring only 69.9mm in width. It features a 6.28-inch AMOLED display that offers a Full HD+ resolution and up to 120Hz refresh rate, whereas the Xiaomi 12 Pro gets a bigger 6.73-inch Samsung E5 AMOLED LTPO panel that delivers a Quad HD+ resolution and a variable refresh rate from 1Hz to 120Hz. The punch-hole screens available on both devices support 12-bit colours, a 20:9 aspect ratio, DCI-P3 colour gamut, an in-screen fingerprint scanner, and Gorilla Glass Victus protection.
The Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset is present under the hood of the Xiaomi 12 and 12 Pro. Both phones are equipped with enhanced versions of LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.1 storage. The Xiaomi 12 gets a 4,500mAh dual-cell battery with 67W fast charging, whereas the Xiaomi 12 Pro houses a 4,600mAh single-cell battery coupled with a 120W rapid charging experience. The Xiaomi 12 series is equipped with Xiaomi’s self-developed Surge P1 for power management. The Xiaomi 12 and 12 Pro support 50W wireless charging and 10W reverse wireless charging.
The Xiaomi 12 features an OIS-assisted Sony IMX766 as the primary camera, a 13-megapixel ultrawide camera, and a 5-megapixel telephoto camera. On the other side, the Pro model gets an OIS-enabled 50-megapixel Sony IMX707 main lens, a 50-megapixel S5KJN1 ultrawide shooter with a 115-degree FOV, and a 50-megapixel S5KJN1 telephoto camera. Both phones are fitted with a 32-megapixel front-facing camera, which is coupled with a GAN (generative adversarial network) beauty filter that naturally beatify selfie shots. For audiophiles, the Xiaomi 12 and 12 Pro feature Harman Kardon powered stereo speakers with Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos support.

The Xiaomi 12X has a 6.28-inch AMOLED FHD+ display with 120Hz refresh rate support. The Snapdragon 870 chipset is present under the hood of the 12X. It comes with up to 12GB of LPDDR4x RAM and up to 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage.
For photography, the Xiaomi 12X has a 20-megapixel selfie camera, and a triple camera unit with a 50-megapixel Sony IMX700 lens, a 13-megapixel ultrawide sensor, and a 5-megapixel telemacro snapper. It has a 4,500mAh battery that supports 67W fast charging.
Xiaomi 12 series pricing and availability
The Xiaomi 12X comes in options like 8GB RAM + 128GB storage, 8GB RAM + 256GB storage, and 12GB RAM + 256GB storage. They are priced at RMB 3,199 (~Rs 37,492), RMB 3,499 (~Rs 41,008), and RMB 3,799 (~Rs 44,549) respectively. The Xiaomi 12 also comes in same configurations, and they are priced at RMB 3,699 (~Rs 43,376), RMB 3,999 (~Rs 46,894), and RMB 4,399 (~Rs 51,556), respectively.
The Xiaomi 12 Pro is priced at RMB 4,699 (~Rs 55,072) for 8 GB RAM + 128GB storage edition, RMB 4,999 (~Rs 58,587) for 8GB RAM + 256GB storage variant, and RMB 5,399 (~Rs 63,275) for 12GB RAM + 256GB storage model. The Xiaomi 12X comes in colours like black, blue, green, and pink, whereas the 12 and 12 Pro will be available in an additional green colour.
