Xiaomi 12, Xiaomi 12 Pro, and Xiaomi 12X have been launched for the global market. These smartphones were first announced in China back in December 2021. With the global launch, the company is making the Xiaomi 12 series available to numerous markets across the world. The Xiaomi 12 and 12 Pro are flagship models powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset, whereas the Xiaomi 12X is equipped with the Snapdragon 870 SoC.

The Xiaomi 12 lineup offers other exciting features such as a 120Hz AMOLED display, 50-megapixel triple cameras, and up to 120W fast charging support. Xiaomi has confirmed that it will be releasing three Android OS upgrades and 4 years of security patch for the Xiaomi 12 and 12 Pro smartphones.

Xiaomi 12 has a 6.28-inch display and Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chip

The Xiaomi 12 is a compact flagship featuring a 6.28-inch AMOLED FHD+ display. On the other hand, the Xiaomi 12 Pro has a 6.73-inch AMOLED LTPO screen that produces a Quad HD+ resolution. Both phones support a 120Hz refresh rate,  a 100 percent DCI-P3 colour gamut, up to 12-bit colors, up to 1,500 nits of brightness, Dolby Vision, and HDR10+. Gorilla Glass Victus has been used to protect the screens of the Xiaomi 12 and 12 Pro.

Xiaomi 12 Pro has a 6.73-inch display and Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chip

The Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset is present under the hood of the Xiaomi 12 and Xiaomi 12 Pro. These smartphones ship with up to 12GB of LPPDR5 RAM and up to 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage. The Xiaomi 12 lineup, including the 12X model, comes preinstalled with Android 12 OS, which is overlaid with MIUI 13. The Xiaomi 12 gets a 4,500mAh battery that supports 67W fast charging, while the 12 Pro has a 4,600mAh battery with 120W rapid charging support. For enhanced charging, the Pro model  is equipped with the Surge P1 charging chip. Both models also offer 50W wireless charging and 10W reverse wireless charging.

The Xiaomi 12 and 12 Pro are fitted with a 32-megapixel front-facing camera. The rear-facing camera unit of the Xiaomi 12 has a 50-megapixel Sony IMX766 primary camera with OIS support, a 13-megapixel ultrawide camera, and a 5-megapixel telemacro snapper. On the other hand, the Xiaomi 12 Pro’s rear mounted camera setup has an OIS-enabled 50-megapixel Sony IMX707 main camera, a 50-megapixel ultrawide sensor, and a 50-megapixel telephoto camera.

Xiaomi 12X features a 6.28-inch display and Snapdragon 870

The Xiaomi 12X borrows its display, cameras, and battery from the Xiaomi 12 model. Instead of the SD8G1 chip, it features the Snapdragon 870 SoC. In addition, it lacks support for wireless and reverse wireless charging. The Xiaomi 12X, 12, and 12 Pro offer features such as dual SIM support, 5G, WiFi 6, Bluetooth 5.1, dual-frequency GPS, a USB Type-C port, Dolby Atmos support. and an in-screen fingerprint scanner. While the Xiaomi 12X and 12 get stereo speakers tuned by Harman Kardon, the Xiaomi 12 Pro is blessed with a quad-speaker unit comprising of two woofers and two tweeters.

The Xiaomi 12X comes in two options such as 8GB RAM + 128GB storage and 8GB RAM + 256GB storage. The Xiaomi 12 has arrived in three configurations, such as 8GB RAM + 128GB storage, 8GB RAM + 256GB storage, and 12GB RAM + 256GB storage. The Xiaomi 12 Pro variants include 8GB RAM + 256GB storage and 12GB RAM + 256GB storage. The Xiaomi 12X, 12, and 12 Pro base models are priced at $649 (Rs 49,550), $749 (Rs 57,200), and $999 (Rs 76,300), respectively. The Xiaomi 12 lineup can be purchased in colours such as grey, blue, and purple.

In the coming weeks, the Xiaomi 12 series will be heading to multiple markets such as Europe, Latin America, Southeast Asia, Africa, and the Middle East. However, Xiaomi did not confirm specific information on the Xiaomi 12 lineup’s availability for the Indian market.
