Xiaomi 12 and Xiaomi 12X are tipped to launch in December. These devices are expected to feature Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8-series flagship chipsets. The rumour mill has revealed key information on the specs and features of both smartphones.
Last year in December, Xiaomi announced the Xiaomi 11 5G and became the first brand to launch a phone powered by the Snapdragon 888 mobile platform. It is speculated that the Xiaomi 12 debuting in December could be the world’s first phone to feature the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset. It is expected to come with several improvements over the predecessor model.
Xiaomi 12, 12X launch date (rumoured)
The Xiaomi 12 and Xiaomi 12X smartphones are expected to launch in China on December 12th, 2021, which falls on a Sunday. Brands are not known for holding launch events on Sunday. However, the Xiaomi 12 series may go official on December 12th, because China’s annual shopping festival called Double 12 is held on the said date each year.
Xiaomi 12, 12X specifications (rumoured)
The Xiaomi 12 and Xiaomi 12X are expected to arrive with a curved edge display. Both smartphones are expected to feature an FHD+ AMOLED display that supports a 120Hz refresh rate and an in-screen fingerprint scanner. Both phones are likely to feature symmetrical stereo speaker grilles.
The Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 powered Xiaomi 12 may come with a 50-megapixel main camera on the back. There is no word on its battery capacity, but it is rumoured to support 100W fast charging.
On the other side, the Xiaomi 12X is tipped to be driven by the Snapdragon 870 mobile platform. It may feature a smaller 6.28-inch display, a 20-megapixel front-facing camera, a 50-megapixel primary camera, and a 5,000mAh battery with 67W fast charging and 33W wireless charging. At present, there is no information on the pricing of the Xiaomi 12 and 12X.
