The alleged Xiaomi 12 handset that has a model number of 2201123C has received 3C certification in China. Previously, it was approved by China’s TENAA authority. These certifications suggest that it may not take too long for the Xiaomi 12 to go official.
The Xiaomi 12 is expected to break cover with Xiaomi 12X and Xiaomi 12 Pro smartphones by the end of this month. The company is expected to confirm the exact launch date in the next few days. Reports have revealed that the Xiaomi 12 series also includes the Xiaomi 12 Ultra premium flagship, which is speculated to debut in Q1 2022.
Xiaomi 12 spotted with 67W fast charger at 3C
Reports have claimed that Xiaomi 12, Xiaomi 12X, and Xiaomi 12 Pro have 2201123C, 2112123AC, and 2201122C model numbers, respectively. The 3C certification of the Xiaomi 12 has revealed that it may carry support for 67W charging. The Xiaomi 12X was also spotted with a 67W charger at the same certification platform last month.
The Xiaomi 12 Pro was approved by 3C earlier this week. It revealed that the device may carry support for 120W fast charging. The Xiaomi 12 trio have also been approved by TENAA. It is speculated that the company may announce the Xiaomi 12 series on December 28th, 2021 in its home market.
The rumour mill is yet to spill concrete information on the specs of the Xiaomi 12 series. The Xiaomi 12 and 12X are expected to feature an FHD+ 120Hz AMOLED panel with curved edges and an in-screen fingerprint scanner. The Xiaomi 12X is likely to feature the Snapdragon 870, whereas the Xiaomi 12 and 12 Pro may come with the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chip.
The Xiaomi 12 and 12X are likely to feature a 50-megapixel main camera. The 12X may come with a 20-megapixel front-facing camera. The Xiaomi 12 trio may ship with MIUI 13 flavoured Android 12 OS.
Xiaomi 12 series rear design revealed
Chinese tipster WHY LAB has shared the alleged case images of the Xiaomi 12, 12 Pro, and Xiaomi 12 Ultra. The images suggest that the Xiaomi 12 and 12 Pro will have an identical rear design and they will come equipped with a triple camera unit.
On the other hand, Xiaomi 12 Ultra’s case image reveals that it will be sporting a round-shaped camera module. The multiple cut-outs on the case indicate that the Ultra model may feature four or five rear cameras. These cameras will be flanked with some sensors and an LED flash.
