  • It reveals that the 12T Pro features a 200MP camera
  • It is likely to be a tweaked version of China’s Redmi K50 Ultra

Xiaomi 12T Pro’s live shot has been released by French publication, Phonandroid. The image gives the first look at the phone’s rear camera design. Last week, Redmi unveiled the Redmi K50 Ultra flagship phone featuring the Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 chip in China. Rumours are rife that the 12T Pro, which is expected to be released in global markets including India, will be a tweaked version of the Redmi K50 Ultra.

The leaked image of the 12T Pro that has surfaced today reveals that it will feature a different primary camera instead of the 108-megapixel snapper available on the K50 Pro. As can be seen in the image below, it will be equipped with a 200-megapixel main camera.

The live shot of the Xiaomi 12T Pro shows that it has a protruding camera module, which looks identical to the Redmi K50 Ultra. However, instead of the 108-megapixel lens, it will feature a 200-megapixel camera.

Xiaomi is not the first phone brand to launch a 200-megapixel camera phone. The Moto X30 Pro, which debuted last week in China, is the world’s first 200-megapixel camera smartphone. There are a lot of rumours that the 12T Pro will have the same Samsung HP1 camera sensor as the Moto X30 Pro.

The 12T Pro’s main camera will be able to shoot 200-megapixel shots with a huge resolution of 16,384 x 12,288 pixels. It can snap high-quality 50-megapixel shots with pixel-binning technology. In low-light conditions, it can shoot 12.5-megapixel photos. The camera supports 30fps 8K video shooting.

Xiaomi 12T Pro specifications (rumoured)

The Xiaomi 12T Pro will come with a 6.67-inch OLED display that offers 1,220 x 2,712 pixels resolution and a 144Hz refresh rate. It is equipped with an in-screen fingerprint scanner and runs on the Android 12 OS with MIUI 13 on top.

The 12T Pro, powered by a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset, will have 8GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage. There is a possibility that the company may offer it in a 12GB RAM variant. The device will draw power from a 5,000mAh battery, which will have support for 120W rapid charging.

The 12T Pro will be equipped with a 20-megapixel camera for snapping selfies and video calls. Its rear camera setup will have a 200-megapixel primary camera, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide lens, and a 2-megapixel macro camera.

Xiaomi 12T series launch timeframe, price

Since the Xiaomi 11T series was announced in September 2021, it is likely that the Xiaomi 12T series will debut in September this year. Apart from the 12T Pro, the lineup is expected to include the Dimensity-8100 Ultra-powered Xiaomi 12T. A recent leak revealed that both phones will arrive in an 8GB RAM + 256GB storage configuration, and will be sold in colours like black, silver, and blue. According to tipster Snoopy Tech, the Xiaomi 12T is likely to cost €649 (~Rs 52,650), whereas the 12T Pro could be priced at €849 (~Rs 68,900).
