Xiaomi 12T, Xiaomi 12T Pro India launch reportedly cancelled

  • Xiaomi 12T series India launch has reportedly been cancelled
  • Xiaomi has not developed ROMs for Xiaomi 12T series’ Indian edition
  • The Xiaomi 12 and Xiaomi 12T Pro are already available in the global market

Xiaomi 12T series may not launch in India, as per the tweets released by reliable tipster Kacper Skrzypek. In September 2021, Xiaomi launched the Xiaomi 11T and Xiaomi 11T Pro in the global market. In January 2022, the company launched the Xiaomi 11T Pro in the Indian market but skipped the Xiaomi 11T. With a starting price of Rs 39,999, the 11T Pro competes in the Indian market with the OnePlus 9 RT, Realme GT 2, iQOO 9 and other affordable flagship phones.

The Xiaomi 12T and 12T Pro went official on the global market in October 2022. The rumour mill hasn’t leaked anything on the Indian variants of the Xiaomi 12T or 12T Pro. The company appears to have no plans to release them in the Indian market.

Xiaomi 12T, 12T Pro may not launch in India, here’s why

XIaomi 12T

The Xiaomi 12T and 12T Pro have “plato” and “diting” codenames, respectively. Skrzypek believes the Xiaomi 12T duo will not be released in India. The reason behind it is that the Xiaomi 12T Pro’s Indian variant does not exist in Xiaomi’s OTA system. While the Indian variant of the Xiaomi 12T does exist in the OTA system, the company has not developed ROMs for it so far.

It appears that brands like OnePlus, iQOO and Realme are going to launch affordable flagship phones priced around Rs 40,000 in the Indian market in the coming months. So, we still don’t know what Xiaomi devices will be put on the market at this price range to compete with other brands.
