Xiaomi 13 and Xiaomi 13 Pro will be unveiled tomorrow (December 1st, 2022) at a mega launch event in China. Reports have revealed that the Xiaomi phones with model numbers 2211133C and 2210132C, which have appeared on certification platforms like 3C and TENAA, will debut as the Xiaomi 13 and Xiaomi 13 Pro, respectively.
The Xiaomi 13 and 13 Pro will come equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset. Like the Xiaomi 12 and Xiaomi 12 Pro, which debuted in December 2021, the Xiaomi 13 will be a compact flagship phone, whereas the Pro will be its larger version. The Xiaomi 13 series launch event will begin at 7 pm (local time) on December 1st, 2023. Since the event is focused on the Chinese market, it will be live-streamed on Xiaomi’s Weibo handle. Apart from launching the Xiaomi 13 duo, the company will also announce a couple of other products, like the Xiaomi Watch S2, Xiaomi Buds 4 TWS earbuds, MIUI 14, the Xiaomi Mini Host desktop PC, a 10-gigabit router, and more.

The Xiaomi 13 has a 6.36-inch E6 AMOLED punch-hole display with a flat design. It will offer an FHD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. The device will come equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset, up to 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM and up to 256GB of UFS 4.0 storage. It will arrive with a 4,600mAh battery that will support 67W fast charging.
The back panel of the phone will feature an OIS-assisted 50-megapixel Sony IMX800 primary camera, a 12-megapixel ultra-wide lens, and a 10-megapixel telephoto camera. The ceramic edition of the device will measure 7.98mm in thickness and weigh 189 grams. Its leather back edition will measure 8.1mm in thickness and weigh 185 grams.

The Xiaomi 13 Pro will arrive with a 6.73-inch E6 AMOLED display with curved edges and a centred punch-hole. It will support a 2K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 2-powered device will come with up to 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM and up to 1TB of UFS 4.0 storage. It will pack a 4,820mAh battery with 120W fast charging.
The Xiaomi 13 Pro’s rear camera setup will be headlined by a 50-megapixel Sony IMX989, which is a 1-inch camera sensor. It will be paired with a 50-megapixel Samsung JN1 ultra-wide camera and a 50-megapixel Samsung JN1 telephoto camera. Its ceramic variant will measure 8.38mm in thickness and weigh 229 grams. Its leather back edition will measure 8.7mm in thickness and weigh 210 grams.
The Xiaomi 13 series will have a 32-megapixel front-facing camera. Both models will run on the MIUI 13-based Android 13OS. These devices will be the first Xiaomi phones to receive the MIUI 14 update in the coming days. At present, there is no information on the price of the Xiaomi 13 series. The Xiaomi 12 and Xiaomi 12 Pro were priced at RMB 3,699 (~Rs 42,200) and RMB 4,699 (~Rs 53,700) at launch, respectively. It is likely that the Xiaomi 13 duo may arrive with similar pricing in the home market. Both devices will be available in colours like Distant Mountain Blue (leather back), Wilderness Green, Ceramic Black, and Ceramic White.
Since the Xiaomi 12 Pro was released in India, the company is likely to release the Xiaomi 13 Pro next year in the country. The Xiaomi 13 is also expected to release in India since it was recently certified by India’s BIS authority.
