Xiaomi 13 Ultra has been launched in China. The company has confirmed that the device will be available on the global market in the coming months. It has arrived as the successor to last year’s Xiaomi 12S Ultra, which remained exclusive to the Chinese market.

The 13 Ultra is designed to deliver a professional photography and videography experience on a smartphone. It comes equipped with four 50-megapixel cameras with variable aperture support for the main camera. Like the current flagship phones, the 13 Ultra features the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset and a marvellous 120Hz Quad HD+ AMOLED panel with curved edges. The Xiaomi 13 Ultra has a 6.73-inch AMOLED LTPO display with curved edges. The screen offers a Quad HD+ resolution of 1,440 x 3,200 pixels, up to a 120Hz refresh rate, up to a 240Hz touch sampling rate, 12-bit colours, 2,600 nits of brightness, and Gorilla Glass Victus protection. It also offers support for HDR10, HDR10+, and Dolby Vision. The phone runs on Android 13 OS, which is overlaid with MIUI 14.

Under the hood, the 13 Ultra features the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset, up to 16GB of LDDR5x RAM, and 1TB of UFS 4.0 storage. It is powered by a 5,000mAh dual-cell battery, which can last for up to 1.34 days on a full charge. The flagship phone comes with support for 90W wired and 50W wireless charging.

The Xiaomi 13 Ultra has a remarkable rear camera system comprising a 1-inch, 50-megapixel IMX989 main camera equipped with a Leica Vario-Summicron lens and three 50-megapixel IMX858 cameras for ultra-wide, telephoto, and periscope zoom shots. The OIS-enabled main camera offers a focal length of 23mm, a variable aperture ranging from f/1.9 to f/4.0, and a 1x zoom. The telephoto camera has a focal length of 75mm, an aperture of f/1.8, OIS support, and 3.2x optical zoom. Meanwhile, the periscope telephoto lens comes with a 120mm focal length, an aperture of f/3.0, OIS support, and 5x optical zoom. Finally, the ultra-wide lens offers a focal length of 12mm and a 0.5x zoom. On the front, the Xiaomi 13 Ultra has a 32-megapixel camera for video calls and selfie shots.

The flagship phone offers other features, dual SIM, 5G, VoLTE, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.3, dual-frequency GPS, NFC, a USB Type-C port with USB 3.2 support, an under-display fingerprint scanner, a P2 surge protection chip, an IP68-rated chassis. Lastly, it measures 163.1 x 74.64 x 9.06mm and weighs 227 grams. The Xiaomi 13 Ultra has variants, such as 12GB RAM + 256GB storage, 16GB RAM + 512GB storage, and 16GB RAM + 1TB storage. These models are priced at RMB 5,999 (~Rs 71,550), RMB 6,499 (~Rs 77,550), and RMB 7,299 (~Rs 87,100), respectively. It comes in black, white, and silver-green shades.

The 13 Ultra will be available for purchase starting April 21st, 2023. There is no word on the India launch of the device. Recent reports have claimed that since the MIUI build for the Indian variant of the device does not exist, it is unlikely to release in India.
