Xiaomi 14 and Xiaomi 14 Pro periscope camera details have appeared in a recent Weibo post by Tipster Digital Chat Station. Although the tipster has not directly mentioned the names of these phones in the Weibo post, it is quite evident based on the context and previous leaks surrounding the Xiaomi 14 series.
So far, reports have revealed that the Xiaomi 14 series will break cover in November this year in China. The Xiaomi 14 and 14 Pro are set to be announced this year, followed by the Xiaomi 14 Ultra in the next year. Here is all the information that has surfaced about the periscope zoom cameras of the Xiaomi 14 and 14 Pro.
Xiaomi 14, 14 Pro to feature periscope zoom cameras
Reports have claimed that the Xiaomi 14 Pro’s rear camera setup will have three 50-megapixel cameras. The first one is said to be the 1-inch Sony IMX989 primary camera with OIS support. It will be assisted by an ultra-wide lens and a periscope zoom camera. As per DCS’ leak, the 14 Pro’s periscope telephoto camera will have a focal length of 115mm and offer 5x optical zoom.
On the other hand, the Xiaomi 14’s periscope telephoto camera will have a focal length of 90mm and offer 3.9x optical zoom. The megapixel count of the camera is yet to be revealed.
Previous reports have revealed that the Xiaomi 14 series will feature the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset. The Pro model may arrive in flat and curved-edge display variants. The device is expected to arrive with a 5,000mAh battery, which may support 120W wired and 50W wireless charging. It is expected to run on Android 14 OS with MIUI on top.
The global and Chinese editions of the Xiaomi 14 have model numbers 23127PN0CC and 23127PN0CG, respectively. On the other hand, the Pro variant has 23116PN5BC and 23116PN5BG model numbers for the Chinese and global markets, respectively. The Xiaomi 14 lineup also includes the Xiaomi 14 Ultra, which may debut in the first quarter of 2024.
