- Xiaomi’s HyperCharge technology has shattered smartphone charging speed records
- The brand has introduced 200W wired and 120W fast wireless charging
- Xiaomi hasn’t revealed when the latest charging tech will debut on smartphones
Xiaomi has unveiled its HyperCharge fast charging technology. It is expected to debut in future smartphones, although that might take a while. The latest charging solution includes 200W fast wired and 120W wireless charging speeds.
Xiaomi demoed its HyperCharge charging technology with the custom-built Mi 10 Ultra powered by a 4,000mAh battery instead of the 5,000mAh cell on the regular variant. With the latest charging tech, Xiaomi has set a new world record in smartphone charging speeds.

Xiaomi announces 200W wired and 120W wireless charging tech
Xiaomi showcased the HyperCharge charging technology on its official Twitter handle. You can notice the timer on the right side and the watt meter on the left that shows the actual charging speed. The power output fluctuated between 15W and 198W.
With 200W wired charging, the technology tops up the phone’s 4,000mAh battery fully in 8 minutes. It gets the battery from zero to 10 percent in 44 seconds and then to 50 percent in just three minutes. As for the 120W wireless charging, it fills up the battery to 100 percent in 15 minutes which is 7 minutes longer than wired charging. The phone charges to 10 percent in a minute and 50 percent in seven minutes via wireless charging.
Xiaomi’s latest HyperCharge tech succeeds its 120W wired and 80W wireless fast charging solutions that were announced last year. The brand hasn’t revealed if the technology will make its way into any upcoming smartphones. Such high charging speeds could have adverse effects on the battery’s health, so it might take a while before we see it on commercially available smartphones.
