Xiaomi Announces ‘MIUI For Watch’ For the Upcoming Mi Watch

Xiaomi is all geared up to launch a bunch of amazing devices on November 5. Amongst the devices scheduled to launch (including the much-hyped Mi CC9 Pro), the Mi smartwatch is one of the most anticipated ones as it is the company’s first-ever smartwatch. As it turns out, the Mi Watch will run on a smartwatch-friendly version of MIUI.

Xiaomi Mi Watch to run on the company’s own skin

Contrary to the earlier belief that the Mi Watch will run on WearOS (owing to the fact that it utilizes a Qualcomm chipset), the company has today made it official that it is indeed going to make use of MIUI instead.

The company revealed the same via a promotional poster on the Chinese microblogging website Weibo.

Furthermore, the Mi Watch will focus on providing an excellent battery life to the users (the company has already started talking about the battery capabilities of the watch) and will have support for NFC, e-SIM (so that one doesn’t have to carry a paired smartphone to make phone calls and send texts), notifications alerts, music playback, and pretty much all the features a usual smartwatch has.

As far as the color variants are concerned, we are going to get two color variants of the Mi Watch – White and Black.

As of now, this is all we know about the Mi watch, but since the launch date is almost approaching, we are sure to receive further updates on the same, so stay tuned for those.
