Xiaomi’s gaming-centric smartphone, Black Shark 2 is set to hit Indian markets on May 27th. The device is Xiaomi’s first gaming smartphone in the country. The company has officially announced the India launch by sending out media invites for the launch event to be held in New Delhi.
To recall the technical specifications, the Black Shark 2 sports a 6.3-inch FHD+ display fitted with an AMOLED panel. The device flaunts a metal unibody design and features a customised RGB LED logo on the back and light strips on both sides. It also comes with an in-display fingerprint scanner for security purposes. In terms of the camera, the Black Shark 2 is equipped with a dual 48MP+12MP shooters, and a 20MP snapper on the front.
On the hardware front, the Black Shark 2 houses a top-of-the=line Snapdragon 855 chipset. The device will be available in three configurations with up to 12GB RAM and 256GB storage depending on the user’s needs. The device is also equipped with integrated Liquid Cooling 3.0 tech for reducing heat levels. The Black Shark draws its power from a 4,000mAh battery with support for 27W fast charging.
The Black Shark 2’s price starts at 3,199 Yuan (!Rs 32,700) in China. We expect it to be priced similarly in India. The device will be pitted against ASUS ROG Phone and nubia Red Magic in the country.
