The image shared by Jun reveals that the CC9 Meitu Custom Edition will come packed in a large sky-blue box with s minimalist design unlike the CC9 and CC9e phones that come in a smaller white box with colourful CC logo. While the CC9 and the CC9e are available in a range of fascinating colors like Dark Blue Planet and White Lovers, the CC9 Meitu Custom Edition will sport a special colour scheme.

Jun also confirmed that the CC9 Meitu Custom Edition has 8 gigs of RAM and a native storage of 256GB. It is expected to deliver a stellar photography experience since its front and rear cameras will be powered by Meitu’s imaging algorithms. A new Weibo post released by Meitu confirms that the CC9 Meitu Custom can shoot stunning portrait shots in low-light conditions.

Xiaomi entered into a strategic partnership with Meitu Inc. back in November 2018, and the upcoming CC range of smartphones are the first devices to be born out of the partnership between the two Chinese technology stalwarts. According to initial speculations, the CC9 has a 6.39-inch waterdrop-style notch screen and it is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 730 processor and 8GB of RAM. Its other features include a 48-megapixel triple rear camera, a 32-megapixel selfie unit and a 4,000mAh battery with 27W fast charging support. The CC9 Meitu Custom Edition may borrow some of its features from the CC9 smartphone and it may command a more expensive price tag.

The CC9e is rumoured to be powered by the Snapdragon 710 SoC with a 6.39-inch FHD+ AMOLED panel. It will feature a waterdrop notch housing a 32-megapixel front camera. It is also expected to feature a 48-megapixel primary camera and a 4,000mAh battery with 18W fast charge support. These phones will loaded with a customised version of MIUI 10 and Android 9 Pie specially designed for CC smartphones.
