Chinese cell phone maker Xiaomi has finally confirmed that a new Redmi device, most likely the Redmi Note 4, is launching in India soon. Xiaomi yesterday announced that it’s now taking applications for a new Mi Explorer program, which was initially launched earlier this year right before launching the Redmi Note 3 in India. The announcement post further reads an image saying “Mi Explorers is coming” and “Be the first to experience the next Redmi device!”
“Mi Explorers is designed for Mi to perfect the next Redmi device based on extensive user feedback and data before launch.”
To recall, Xiaomi initially unveiled the Redmi Note 4 in China back in August this year. Reports emerged recently that the company is now gearing up to launch the successor to Redmi Note 3 in India next month. Since the company has now confirmed the arrival of its upcoming Redmi device in India, earlier reports seem to be true so far.
To get started with, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 sports a 5.5-inch Full HD. It comes in two variants — 2GB RAM + 16GB storage and 3GB RAM + 32GB storage. The internal memory, however, is expandable further up to 128GB through microSD card. Even though it’s powered by a deca-core MediaTek Helio X20 processor, the company is expected to launch a Snapdragon variant in India.
On the camera front, one will get a 13MP rear snapper with PDAF and dual-LED flash. It houses a 5MP secondary camera up front for selfies. There’s also a fingerprint scanner on the back. The connectivity options comprise 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, and USB Type-C port. Finally, a 4100mAh battery completes the overall offerings.
The Dual-SIM Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 costs 999 Yuan in China. We are expecting it to be priced at somewhere around Rs. 12,000.
