Xiaomi’s upcoming electric car has been the subject of speculation for a while now. The company resolved some of the doubts recently as the ‘Modena’ EV was spotted whilst being tested in snowy conditions. We’re now learning that this automobile could be known as the MS11 when it breaks cover. Additionally, some newly leaked photos have revealed a nearly finished version of the EV.

These images come courtesy of Rushlane and detail some of the design attributes of the electric sedan, in addition to the MS11 moniker. One of the pictures also reveals the alloy wheels (five-spoke) alongside the Mi badging.

The array of sensors, including Lidar, could be housed within the black unit on the front of the hood. Xiaomi appears to have spent a sizeable amount of time customising the EV, as is evident from the glass roof, LED DRLs and the sportscar-like front fascia.

Xiaomi MS11 EV rumoured specifications

While the Chinese manufacturer has managed to keep the EV’s features well under wraps, we’ve previously learned that the MS11/Modena could use BYD’s iconic Blade battery. However, the company could also go with CATL’s Qilin battery (800V), which uses the CTP (cell-to-pack) technology and can enable cars to run for more than 800 km on a full charge.

Xiaomi MS11 EV rumoured price and availability

91Mobiles reports that the MS11 sedan could be priced in the range of 2,60,000 CNY and 3,50,000 CNY when it launches in its home region sometime next year. This effectively translates to a price tag of between Rs 30 lakhs to 42 lakhs, though we expect it to cost closer to Rs 50 lakhs if and when it breaks cover in India.
