Xiaomi and Google are reportedly collaborating to create a new Android One smartphone. This new smartphone might possibly be a version of the recently launched Xiaomi Mi 5X. If reports are to be believed, this might be another attempt by Google to revive its failed Android One program.
As per reports by Krispitech, the new Android One phone made by Xiaomi might be called ‘Xiaomi A1’. Although the specifications and features are still under the wraps, an image of the upcoming phone has been leaked.
As expected, Google will look after the complete software part of the phone whereas Xiaomi will take care of the hardware aspect. It will also be the first phone by Xiaomi to come with stock Android rather than its own MIUI. Apart from it, the phone will pack in all the necessary Google services including security features, applications and much more. Google might also provide free unlimited high-quality storage in Google Photos which might be a lucrative deal for customers.
Reports have claimed that this device might come with a 5.5-inch Full HD display. Just like the Mi 5X, it might have dual rear cameras as the major highlight of the phone. The phone is expected to run on Snapdragon 625 processor along with 4GB of RAM. 32GB of internal storage is provided in the phone as well. It can come with a 3080mAh battery.
On the optics front, the Xiaomi A1 might come with two 12-megapixel cameras similar to what Mi 5X offers. For selfie lovers, the phone is expected to come with an 8-megapixel shooter.
The phone was reportedly listed on Xiaomi’s website for a short while before they pulled it off. All the details about the phone has been extracted owing to this mishap.
It will be interesting to see Google revoke the Android One program by collaborating with Xiaomi. Would you be interested in buying this phone? Let us know in the comments section below.
