Mi A2

The Mi A2 is the higher model among the two. Let’s check the technical specifications below:

Display & Design:

In terms of display, the Mi A2 sports a large 5.99-inch full HD+ bezel-less display with an 18:9 aspect ratio. A 2.5D Corning Gorilla Glass 5 is layered on the top for enhanced durability and protection against damages and scratches. Design-wise, the device looks sleek and premium with an aluminium metal unibody. The back of the phone has a vertical dual camera setup and a fingerprint sensor located in the center. The Mi A2 will be available in three attractive colors i.e. Black, Blue & Gold.

Hardware, & Camera:

Under the hood, the Mi A2 houses an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 chipset. The processor is paired with two RAM variants of 4GB & 6GB. For storing data, the 4GB variant offers 32GB or 64GB internal memory options, while the 6GB variant is coupled with 128GB memory.

In the optics department, the Mi A2 features a vertical dual camera setup comprising of 12MP primary and 20MP secondary snapper. Both the sensors feature an f/1.75 aperture accompanied by LED flash for better pictures in low light conditions. On the front, a 20MP selfie snapper is fitted with soft LED flash. It is backed by AI capabilities including an AI portrait mode. The portrait mode adds bokeh effect to the pictures by blurring the background. Furthermore, the device comes with Google Lens integration which allows the user to look up for specific information by just pointing the camera at it.

Battery, OS & Connectivity:

The Mi A2 is fuelled by a 3,000 mAh battery unit. The Mi A2 ships with the latest stock Android 8.1 Oreo OS out of the box with a guaranteed Android P update later this year. Connectivity-wise, the Mi A2 features all the basic options like 4G support for VoLTE, WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS, and a USB Type-C.

Mi A2 Lite:

The Mi A2 Lite is a toned down variant of its elder sibling, the Mi A2. It sports a similar design with rear mounted fingerprint scanner and a vertical dual camera setup. The device features a slightly smaller bezel-less display measuring 5.84-inches with a notch on the top. The Mi A2 Lite is powered by a Snapdragon 625 processor coupled with 3/4GB RAM.

On the camera front, the dual rear camera setup consists of 12MP + 5MP sensors paired with LED flash. Upfront there is a 5MP snapper for clicking selfies. Out of the box, the Mi A2 Lite runs on the latest Android 8.0 Oreo OS. Since the device is a part of Google’s Android One programme, it will also likely get Android P update later this year. The A2 Lite draws its power from a 4,000 mAh battery unit which is larger than the Mi A2. Connectivity options offered on the A2 Lite are the same as A2 with support for 4G VoLTE, WiFi, Bluetooth, USB Type-C & a 3.5 mm headphone jack.
