In an event held in New Delhi today, the Chinese smartphone company launched this much awaited Mi Air Purifier 2 in India. Mi fans were waiting for this product for quite sometime. Even though there are many local and international brands already selling air purifiers in India, but there’s not much awareness about these products in general public.
Finally, the company usually known as manufacturer budget smartphones is gradually entering into smart home space. Xiaomi has already released a range of home appliances in China like water purifiers, air purifier, cycles, Mi TV etc. There’s still no word about the launch of these other products in India.
The Mi Air Purifier 2 comes with simple interface and also uses an app for advance air quality monitoring through the phone. With the use of app, the smartphone can act as a remote for all the operations of Mi Air purifier 2. Xiaomi claims that Mi Air Purifier 2 can eliminate up to 99.9% of PM 2.5 particles and is able to produce 10,000 liters of fresh air in a 48m² effective area.
The purifier also features a CADR (Clean Air Delivery Rate) of 406m³/h which is the international standard for measuring the quality of air purifiers. It has a replaceable 360 degree cylindrical filter which can clean the air from pollen, dust, allergens, smoke odors and more. The cost of replacement filter for Mi Purifier 2 is Rs 2499 and ideally should be replaced every six months.
The Mi Air Purifier 2 will go on sale in India on September 26 at 12 pm exclusively on mi.com for Rs 9,999.
