Today at an event held in India, Xiaomi has expanded its smart home product range with the launch of the Mi Purifier 2S, which is an update to the Air Purifier 2 launched last year. The device has been teased on company’s Twitter handle with the caption ‘Breath of fresh air arriving on 27th September’.
The Mi Air Purifier 2S flaunts a similar design as its predecessors. It gets an upgrade from the original Mi Air Purifier with a a circular OLED display like the Mi Air Purifier Pro. The display shows information like atmospheric particulate matter (PM) as well as temperature and humidity. This air purifier offers a triple layer filter which can clean the air from pollen, dust, allergens, smoke odors and more. It also features a CADR (Clean Air Delivery Rate) of 310m³/h which is the international standard for measuring the quality of air purifiers. It can cover a room size of between 21-32 square meters.
The Mi Air Purifier 2S comes with a WiFi connection and can be controlled through the Mi Home app available on Android and iOS. It also offers Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa integration. Xiaomi claims that the Mi Air Purifier 2S is ultra-quiet producing 30db noise and is energy efficient.
The Mi Air Purifier 2S bears a price tag of Rs. 8,999 and the first sale will take place on September 28, 12 noon on Mi.com, Amazon, & Flipkart. It will be available in Mi Home stores and offline partners soon. Considering the fact that pollution levels increase during the festive season and the winters are approaching, Xiaomi’s new smart device has been launched at the right time.
