Xiaomi Mi 10 Lite 5G with Snapdragon 765G and 48MP quad cameras announced

Last week, Xiaomi held a dedicated launch event in Europe to announce couple of new devices. These included the Xiaomi Mi 10 and Mi 10 Pro 5G-ready flagship phones that were first introduced in China in February. At the European launch event, the Chinese firm also announced a new phone called Xiaomi Mi 10 Lite 5G. The Snapdragon 765G powered Mi 10 Lite is the first Xiaomi phone to feature a rectangular rear camera module, and is currently the cheapest 5G smartphone in Europe. The handset replaces the Mi 9 Lite from last year.

Xiaomi Mi 10 Lite 5G debuts as the cheapest 5G smartphone in Europe

The Xiaomi Mi 10 Lite 5G has a 6.57-inch TrueColor AMOLED screen with a waterdrop notch. It produces full HD+ resolution of 1,080 x 2,340 pixels and an aspect ratio of 19.5:9. The MIUI 11 based Android 10 comes preloaded on the device.

The Snapdragon 765G that comes with an integrated 5G modem powers the device with up to 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM and up to 128GB of UFS 2.1 storage. There is a microSD card slot onboard for additional storage.

The top-left corner of the Mi 10 Lite’s rear has a rectangular camera module that comprises of an f/1.8 48-mgeapixel primary lens, an 8-megapixel wide-angle lens, a 5-megapixel macro lens and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. The rear cameras of the Mi 10 Lite come with features like Pro Mode, AI dynamic skyscaping, 4K video shooting, vlog mode and more. It has a front-facing camera of 16-megapixels. The handset seems to borrow the front and rear cameras from the Redmi Note 9 Pro.

The 4,160mAh battery of the Xiaomi Mi 10 Lite 5G supports 20W fast charging. It is also equipped with Quick Charge 3.5 support. For security, the phone features an in-display fingerprint scanner.

The Mi 10 Lite 5G carries a price tag of €349 (~Rs 29,200) for the 64GB model. Its 128GB edition is priced at €399 (~Rs 33,300). The sales of the phone will begin in European markets in May, and it will arrive in three colours such as Gray, Green and White. There is no word on its arrival in India.
