Xiaomi Mi 10, Mi 10 Pro and Redmi K30 Pro to feature Snapdragon 865 chipsets

Most upcoming Android flagship phones this year are expected to be equipped with the 5G-ready Snapdragon 865 mobile platform. A new reports by XDA Developers has now revealed that Xiaomi has as many as three upcoming Snapdragon 865 powered phones this year. Two of them are from the Mi 10 series, while the third device is the Redmi K30 Pro. The publication has also shared some information on the cameras of these devices.

XDA came across four Xiaomi devices codenamed Tucana, Draco, Umi, Cm and Lmi by examining the Mi Gallery app. Among these, the last three phones are equipped with the Snapdragon 865 mobile platform. The Umi and Cmi codenames belong to the Xiaomi Mi 10 and Xiaomi Mi 10 Pro, respectively. The Redmi K30 Pro is codenamed as Lmi.

Xiaomi had already confirmed in December that the upcoming Mi 10 series will be equipped with Snapdragon 865 mobile platform. Redmi too had confirmed in December that it will launch an SD865 phone, but did not confirm the name of the device. Last, the Redmi K30 Pro was spotted on Geekbench, revealing that the phone is equipped with a Snapdragon 865 SoC, 8GB of RAM and Android 10. The listing also carried the “lmi” codename.

Xiaomi previously confirmed that upcoming the Mi 10 series will feature the Snapdragon 865 processor

The publication claims that the Tucana, Draco, Umi and Cmi are Xiaomi phones with 108-megapixel Samsung ISOCELL Bright HMX sensors. The Tucana and Draco phones have already launched. The Tucano was made official in some markets as Xiaomi Mi Note 10 Pro. In China, the same phone is selling as the Xiaomi Mi CC9 Pro. The Draco debuted as the Xiaomi Mi MIX Alpha concept phone. The Umi and Cmi that are also expected to feature 108-megapixel cameras include the upcoming Xiaomi Mi 10 and Mi 10 Pro smartphones.

Interestingly, the Lmi phone is not included in the list of 108-megapixel cameras. Hence, the Redmi K30 Pro is unlikely to feature a 108-megapixel camera. Last year, the Xiaomi Mi 9 and Redmi K20 Pro shared the same Snapdragon 855 flagship SoC, but the other specs on the K20 Pro were inferior because of which it carried a lower price tag. Hence, the Redmi K30 Pro could be a cheaper version of the Xiaomi Mi 10. A Chinese tipster has claimed that the Redmi K30 Pro will sport a 64-megapixel Sony IMX686 main lens in its quad camera setup.

Xiaomi President Lin Bin had recently claimed that the brand would be the first to launch SD865 powered phones. Hence, the Mi 10 series is expected to go official before Samsung announces the S11 series on February 11th. As far as the Redmi K30 Pro is concerned, it is speculated to go official by the end of the coming month.
